The German government’s Energy Concept Long-term strategy for future energy supply

With its Energy Concept the German government has formulated guidelines for an environmentally sound, reliable and affordable energy supply and for the first time mapped a road into the age of renewable energies. The aim is to develop and implement an overall strategy for the period up to 2050. This provides long-term orientation while at the same time preserving the flexibility required for new technical and economic developments. Regular and consistent monitoring will help to identify and correct undesirable developments at an early stage.

Renewable Energy Projections as Published in the National Renewable Energy Action Plans of the European Member States

Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) has recently extracted key data from the published NREAPs and has made these available for further analysis and comparison in a database. The database which contains energy consumption and renewable projections up to 2020 for the 19 countries is available for download in CSV format.
